2017 has been announced as the Year of Ecology in Russia. Bird Day is celebrated annually on April 1. In ancient times, a holiday called Larks was celebrated in Russia on March 22. According to Folk Calendar winter ends on this day and spring starts, day length becomes equal to night length, larks and waders come back from warm places and bring spring. A bun in the form of a bird is the main symbol of this day.
The Museum of History of Pechory would like to invite everyone to come and take part in the Bird Day celebration on March 22 at 14.00 p.m. You will be able to learn what role birds play in keeping the balance of nature and in the life of people, about rare and protected birds living in Pechory District, to take part in master classes in making birdfeeders and making buns in the form of birds. All that will be followed by a cup of tea and home baked pastry.
