State historical-architectural, landscape and natural museum-preserve «Izborsk»

Navitrolla (his real name being Heiki Trolla) is one of the most famous modern artists of Estonia. He selected his pseudonym in the memory of village Navi where he had spent his childhood. Theartist's studio is located in Tartu and his personal gallery – in the center of Tallinn.   

Navitrolla’s art is a combination of naïve art and surrealism. Sometimes art critics use the term “ethno-futurism” to characterize it. To the general public Navitrolla is known as “an artist, who paints the clouds”.  

This Estonian artist paints real landscapes that exist in different parts of the world. Freely combining the components, he creates unique worlds that look both familiar and bizarre. Landscapes are painted in a very detailed way.Different-coloured animals who have human character live there.

Navitrolla’s art enables the spectator to see miracles in everyday life. The artist emphasizes the funny moments of everyday life without directly painting the reality.  

Navitrolla is the author of four books where he writes about his creative work, shares his childhood memories and explains hislife philosophy. 

Navitrolla has participated in several dozen personal and collective exhibitions in Estonia and outside the country (in Helsinki, Berlin, London, Lisbon).  The work of this creative artist has gained international recognition. Today Navitrolla’s art is a brand of Estonia. He has cooperated with many other artists and designers.The design of the livery ofMS Galaxy cruise ferry, the pride of SiljaLine company, was made by Navitrolla. This huge 200 metre long cruise ferry was built in 2006.

“The Miracle” exhibition is the first personal exhibition of Navitrolla in Russia.
