21 May 2018

The traditional action "Donating to the Museum” was organized in Izborsk State Museum Reserve for the 18th time on May 18, 2018.

This year 12 people donated 253 items to Izborsk museum. A precious gift was given by Krylov Alexander Konstantinovich, the head of Church and Historical Painting Workshop of St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Fine Arts, Sculpture and Architecture, named after I.E.Repin. He donated to Izborsk Museum an illustrated album dedicated to the War of 1812, published in 1887, the first edition of the album of drawings of Russian artists published in 1880, a newspaper “Leningradskaya Pravda” from May 10, 1945 and an agitational leaflet published in 1941.

114 paintings became part of Izborsk Museum’s collection. Over 100 paintings and drawings of Vasilevich Viktor Pavlovich were given to the museum by his daughter Vasilevich Ekaterina Viktorovna. They are dedicated to the beauty and greatness of Izborsk.

Among the gifts are also drawings in drypoint technique by Andrey Igorevich Bodrov, a graphic artist from St. Petersburg and paintings by Liudmila Vitalyevna Davydova.

A collection of toys made of clay and wood that used to belong to the Konichev family was given to the museum by Tsygankov Alexander Ivanovich from St. Petersburg. Every painted toy is a real folk-art masterpiece.

Numerous ethnography objects, printed publications and coins became part of the funds of Izborsk museum.  You will be able to see them in the nearest future among the exhibits of Izborsk Museum.

We are very grateful to all the people who took part in the "Donating to the Museum” action.
