State historical-architectural, landscape and natural museum-preserve «Izborsk»

  On June 23 from 10.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. Izborsk State Museum Reserve will become a venue for an event entitled “Bookway”. A “Bookway” team from Leningrad will organize “Reading tents” in the Entertainment Garden of Izborsk Museum Reserve focusing on the topic “To look at. To see. To Love”. 

«Bookway» ­– is a unique project aimed at promoting and supporting the value of reading and modern literature for children in towns and villages of Leningrad Region. Young people who participate in this project also learn about the history and culture of the places they visit. The motto of this movement is “I am part of the world and the whole world is inside me!”

    In 2018 young people from Leningrad Region together with writers, researchers and historians travel to towns that are part of the Silver Necklace of Russia – Ivangorod, Gdov, Izborsk and Pskov.

  The members of the team “Bookway-2018” will present national and world masterpieces written in the 20th and 21st centuries, will create landscapes with the reading people, will identify the Genius of the Place and prove the value of reading for children and its significance for the culture of modern Russia.  

   Many interesting people will take part in the event: writers Maria Semyonova, Sergey Machotin, Katerina Murashova, Anastasiya Strokina, translator Olga Drobot, artists Katya Tolstaya and Alexander Golubev, a researcher of children's books Svetlana Maslinskaya and a literary critic Maria Poryadina.
