State historical-architectural, landscape and natural museum-preserve «Izborsk»

On the festival ground "A medieval boat (9 meters)" you will be able to see a replica of a 9 meter long Viking boat of late 11th-early 12th century. The boat was built in 2010 in St.Petersburg by a team of enthusiasts under the supervision of master Sergey Kashin-Sveshnikov with the participation of master Lenard Videberg from Sweden.

Another medieval boat, 12 meters long, will be located next to it. It was built by Pskov historical reenactment club in accordance with 11th century drawings, discovered on the Internet, in archives and books on ship building". This is the first and the only replica of a medieval boat in Pskov that can sail down local rivers and lakes.

Any interested person will be able to learn about the design of the boats, participate in the work of a Medieval wharf, become a spectator of interactive programmes "The landing of a boat" and "Setting the boat's sails".

You are welcome to come to the embankment of the Velikaya River on June 28-30. We will be waiting for you starting from 11.00 a.m. in the territory between Ploskaya and Kutekroma Towers.

The history of ancient Pskov becomes alive! Entrance is free.

The organizers of the festival are the Administration of the Pskov Region, Russian Military Historical Society, Pskov City Administration, Izborsk State Museum Reserve of History, Architecture and Land.
